[Notes by Ann Meade] My 4th great grandfather was the son of Berry and Melinda Knox Young. He married Elizabeth before 1826 in South Carolina or Alabama. Jeptha died before the 1870 census. 1860 Pinetucky, Perry County, Alabama census: Jeptha Young, age 67 (b. 1793), occupation farmer, born in South Carolina, married to Elizabeth Young, age 72 (b. 1788), occupation midwife, born in S. Carolina. Had property amounting to $679.
