Bio

Sarah was the oldest of eight children born to Henry Parrott and his wife (name unknown). She was born in the east Tennessee area before the area changed from Green County, N.C. to Cocke County, Tennessee and later Jefferson County, Tennessee. Her father Henry purchased a number of acres on the south bank of the French Broad River in the area that had become Jefferson County. Her father and mother, and additional family members, were likely buried on their farm in an area that 100 years later became Douglas Lake. Their graves had vanished over time and were never relocated in preparation for the Dam and the lake it created. This information was contributed by minpar
