Children of John and Phildephia Ellington · James Born 1791 Married Martha Wiggins · Joel Born 1792 or 1794 Married Elizabeth Hocut · Elizabeth Born 1799 Married Turner Young · Nancy Born 1804 Married Hardy Watford · William born 1805 May have moved to St Louis and died young The children all moved to the town of Oxford in Newton County Georgia then comes the confusion James had a son named Joel and Joel had a son named James who had children who married one another “1st cousins” My question is this is there a will for John Ellington I figure he was a big land owner like his father Peter before him and should have owned several slaves which means there should be a will for him we are also trying to get a correct 1st name for his wife Ancestry.com has some family trees listing her as Philadelphia Gardner but Ancestry is not always right because they have him dying in 1790 but this is impossible because James was born in 1791 and William in 1805 so it had to be after 1805
