Bio
Lois Louise McCorkle, age 80, of Hooks, Texas, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Brookdale Senior Living Community in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. McCorkle was born February 28, 1937, in Broaddus, Texas and lived in Hooks most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, J Williams and Gleen McCorkle. Mrs. McCorkle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time and giving hugs to her family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working in the flower garden and dancing the jitterbug. She is survived by her five daughters and four sons-in-law, two sons and daughters-in-law, one brother of Longview, Texas, twenty-five grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Reed officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Alliance Texarkana Area, P. O.
