Hank was the only child of Henry J. & Sylvia (Zelney) Teckmeyer. He grew up creating his own adventures around South O. Throughout his teens he cultivated what would be a life long love of Baseball while he played for various teams of the American Legion. He went to study at the Van Sant School of Business, after graduating from Omaha South High School, just two years later armed with a business knowledge in short hand skills. Hank started his career at Union Pacific Railroad, that would provided him with is livelihood and more important his wife Rosemary. Before meeting Rosemary in the figure skating club at U.P. Hank stepped away from the Railroad and gave 3 years of service to his country in the United States Army, working as a technical Sergeant throughout Europe and Africa. Hank retuned a proud veteran. The best year of his life began on June 9-1951, when he married Rosemary Lee Monzingo and started the 66 years of life together Outside of church and family activities Hank could be found in West Memorial Stadium at nearly every Husker Game for more than 80 years. When not cheering his Huskers, he would be at home following the New York Yankees or in the seats at Rosenblatt for the College World Series or watching his grandchildren participate in school and sport activities.
