Bio
Doris Jean Stephens Steele, age 71 of Belvidere, TN, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 10, 1946 at home in Belvidere, Tennessee to the late Author B. and Edna Belle Stephens. Mrs. Steele was a department manager at Wal-Mart and was a member of the Keith Springs Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed working out in the yard and cooking Sunday and Holiday meals for her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Steele and sister, Bobbie Crownover. Mrs. Steele leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter, Roxanna (James) Matthews of Belvidere and son, Mark Steele of Belvidere; grandchildren, Riley Steele and Krista Matthews; sister, Rita Nunley of Tracy City; brothers, Jerry (JoAnn) Stephens of Winchester and A.C (Geraldine) Stephens of Belvidere. Visitation will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Clark Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Howard Steele.
