Bio
Services will be Friday for Ruby Fay Swafford, who died Wednesday in a local hospital. A native of Waco, Texas, she was the assistant county auditor for Gregg County, Texas, before moving to Santa Cruz County. She was president of Santa Cruz Newcomers of Hospitality Service and a member of the First Baptist Church of Capitola and the First Baptist Church of Graggton, Texas. Survivors include a son, Blaine Swafford of Soquel; two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Drummond of Capitola and Mrs. Ford Chatham of Valley Mills. Texas and one grandson. Services will be held at White's Chapel, 138 Walnut Ave.. Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Deane of the First Baptist Church of Capitola officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Longview, Texas. Contributions are preferred to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church of Capitola. Graham Memorial to attend.
