Edith ''Pearl'' Edwards, age 92, of Harrison, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison. Pearl was born October 17, 1924, in the White Oak Community, the daughter of Bently and Nina (Downes) Wade. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elwin; her son, Jackie Ray Edwards; grandson, Jerry Lee Edwards; granddaughter, Vonna Edwards; great-grandson, Reece Rose; and brothers, Jim and Leonard Wade and a twin sister, Ethel (Wade) Curtis. Pearl was a Christian and lived her whole life within a 3 mile radius of where she was born until her health required her to move to Hillcrest Home. Pearl was a fabulous cook, an awesome gardner, and Mama to seven children. She liked nothing better than to can her own produce and piece quilts in her farmhouse where she raised her family. She was known to many simply as ''Granny Pearl''. Pearl is survived by her six children, Jimmy Dale (Mary), Jerry Elwin (Jolene), Jana Darlene Kindall (Rex), and Joyce Kay Rose (Ronnie) all of Harrison, Judy Ann Griffin (Clay) of Angola, Indiana, and Joe Lynn (Anne) Edwards of Hot Springs, Arkansas, 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Wesley Wade (Yvonne) of Vinton, Iowa, Nieces, nephews, and many-many friends and family. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3rd, at the White Oak Cemetery with her grandson, Charles Edwards officiating. Pallbearers are her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Tom Leslie, Dorothy Dees, Larry and Mary Jane Hunter, Art and Caroline Shook, and the residents of Hillcrest Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Home, 1111 Maplewood Road, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.
