Bio
Marie Evelyn Kracl, age 88, of O'Neill, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. She was born to Anton J. and Mary Francis (Wachal) Jedlicka in Schuyler, Nebraska, on July 27, 1929. Marie attended Country School District #13 in Schuyler and graduated Schuyler High School in 1946. She met Norman P. Kracl and they were married on September 6, 1952, at St. Mary's Church in Schuyler. To this union, 6 children were born: Eileen, Robert, Steven, Anton, Michael and Carol. The family farmed in the North Bend/Rogers area through 1972. They moved to O'Neill in 1973 to establish Kracl Equipment Company, a John Deere Dealership. In 1975, they started farming in the Holt County area, where she was still involved in farming. Gardening was her true passion, along with caring for their grandchildren, and attending their activities. Norman and Marie were able to travel abroad on many trips with the John Deere business. After losing her husband in 1985, she went on many bus trips with relatives and friends. She is survived by: children, Eileen M. (Ron) Schmit, Robert D. (Barbra) Kracl, Michael A. (Wanda) Kracl, Carol A. (Mike) Hedlund; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Norman P.; son, Steven Kracl; infant son, Anton Kracl; and brother, Milo Jedlicka. Funeral Service on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, with burial in the O'Neill Calvary Cemetery. Obituary information from Biglin's Mortuary.
