Bio

Harold L Santee, 55 who lived at 1028 S 29th in Parsons, died Tuesday. He had been in ill health the past three years. Santee was born on March 13, 1921, in Mound Valley, a son of Isaac and Stella (Mitchell) Santee. He grew to manhood in Mound Valley and was graduated from high school there. He lived in Parsons since 1941. On Jan 3, 1941 he and Evelyn Darling were married. She survives at the home. Santee was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Parsons. He was employed by the Kansas Power and Light Company for 26 years. Other survivors include, one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Linda) Kelley of Lawrence; one sister, Mrs. Ora Myers of Cherryvale; and his mother, Mrs. Stella Santee of Altamont. Three grand-children also survive. Graveside services will be held at 10am Friday in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Victor Trower officiating. In lieu of other remembrances the family suggested contributions to the elevator fund of the First Baptist Church in Parsons. Contributions may be left at the Wayne Darling Funeral Home in Cherryvale, which is in charge of arrangements, or with Rev. Trower.
