Funeral services for Lester Richburg, 95, of Hart, were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Hart with Rev. Aaron Lee Reed, pastor, and Rev. Tom Long, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Hart, officiating. Burial followed in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Richburg died Jan. 6 at 6:45 a.m. in Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton. He was born Feb. 13, 1905, in Kaufman County. He married Ora Mearse on April 4, 1936. She preceded him in death in 1976. They moved to Hart in 1961 from Earth. He was a farmer at Earth and Kress, and worked for the City of Hart for 15 years. Mr. Richburg was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hart. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Dennis Smith. He is survived by a son Gene Richburg of Waxahachie; a daughter, Pat Smith of Hart; four sisters, Blanche Pendergrass of Tempe City, Calif., Oma Herm of Ackery, Nola Taylor of Loraine, and Marie Adrian of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Shelley Schulte of Nazareth, Zachary Smith of Hart, and Todd Richburg and Tana Buck, both of Lubbock; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
