Obituary (Source: Elliot Mortuary & Crematory) "George "Bud" Janner, 74, died Aug. 13, 2009, at his home, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 18, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo., to George T. Janner Jr. and Lois White Janner. He graduated in 1953 from Hutchinson High School, and graduated from Hutchinson Community College. A resident of Hutchinson since 1941, moving from Kansas City, he had worked for Zephyr Manufacturing, United Way of Reno County, Hutchinson, the Reno County Chamber of Commerce, Oswald Realty and Plaza/Astle Realty. He was retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve. He belonged to the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. He was a member of numerous clubs and organizations including the Hutchinson Rotary Club and just received his 40-year Perfect Attendance Award at last Monday's meeting. He was past president and member of the HCC Board of Trustees, past president and member of the Hutchinson Board of Realtors, was a charter board member of the Hutchinson High School Alumni Association, the Kansas Jaycees, and Knights of Columbus Council No. 612. On May 28, 1955, he married Glenda Button in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Bill and wife, Colleen, Shawnee, David and wife, Sharri, Overland Park, and Wayne and wife, Jean, Olathe; and six grandchildren, Scott, Cale, Hillary, Hayley, Dane and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois Ann Saks. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation will take place. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson Community College Endowment Association or Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the mortuary.
