MRS. SHIPKA, 50, OF MILROY DIES RITES HELD TUESDAY ON BIRTHDAY; MANY ATTEND SERVICES Milroy—Rites were held on her fiftieth birthday, Tuesday, for Mrs. William Shipka, whose death occurred New Year's eve. Burial was in Our Savior's Lutheran cemetery after services at the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. H. N. Norcutt. Pall bearers were Oscar, Melvin, John, Edward, Harold and Robert Solseth. Mary Dobesh was born in North Bend, Nebraska, January 4, 1888. Her parents moved to Chicago where she attended school until 12 years old. They then came west, residing for a time on the Rock farm, three miles north of Milroy. From here they went to Tyndall, South Dakota and later to Gregory county where the established a homestead. In 1908 William Shipka took a nearby homestead and September 1, 1909 they were married. They resided in Dakota until 1924 when they moved to Milroy. Mrs. Shipka leaves her husband and their daughter, Sylvia Mae, and three sisters and four brothers. Her parents and a sister and two brothers preceded her in death. Those from away who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shavlik of Gregory, South Dakota, Mrs. Joseph Dodesh of Tyndall, South Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. William Hlavac of Mountain Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dobesh of Sioux Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shipka, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shipka Jr. and son William and Edward Shipka Sr. all of Brainerd; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dodesh and family of Harrington, South Dakota; Rudolph Dobesh of Burk, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Okins of Morton; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Preslicka of Olivia; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Vejtruba of Willmar; Mr. and Mrs. John Youngman and Frank Jaros of Sleepy Eye; Mrs. Kate Fiery of Springfield; Mrs. Vernie Zsatzsache of Leavenworth; Mr. and Mrs. John Jaros of Vesta; Mr. and Mrs. William Voss of Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Okins of Revere. --Courtesy Contributor Violethour74
