Billy “Bill” Ray Rutherford, 73, died on Monday, August 28, 2017 at his daughter’s residence in South West City, MO. He was born in Jay, OK on Dec. 2, 1943 to his parents, Louis and Dorothy Rutherford. Bill attended Jay Schools, where he learned carpentry skills that he would use on construction sites throughout his career as a Boilermaker General Foreman, until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time on the farm, fishing with family and friends, hunting, gardening, as well as mowing and yard work. Bill is preceded in death by father, Louis; mother, Dorothy; sister, Imogean Morrison; brother, Albert Lee Rutherford, and brother in law, Vernie Roberts. Bill married Georgia Diane Rutherford, January 1963, and to this union 3 children were born. He is survived by his children, John Rutherford and wife Terry of Columbia, TN; Annetta Jo Clark and husband Shane of Southwest City, MO, and Tony Rutherford and wife Misty of Jay, OK; sister, Betty Roberts of Zena, OK; brothers, Louis Rutherford, Jr. and wife Carol of Jay, OK, and Eddie Rutherford and wife Linda of Sallisaw, OK; 9 grandchildren,Justin Levi Rutherford, Jody Ray Rutherford, Keisha Mae Clark, Brittany Dawn Clark, Alyssa Leigh Clark, Taylor Layne Clark, Blaike Aston Rutherford, Bryce Austin Rutherford, Kyle Anthony McDowel; 5 great-grandchildren, Heath, Kale, Rosie, Marshall, and Logan and a host of family and friends. Bill’s family visitation to greet friends will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm, at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346. Bill’s Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am, August 31, 2017, at the Rutherford Farm, 18794 E. 420 Rd., Jay, OK, 74346. Burial at the Rutherford Farm.
