Kay Ashcroft, 85, lifetime resident of Kirtland, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born May 10, 1921, in Kirtland. He was a WWII veteran, owner and operator of Tsaya Trading Post, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Ashcroft of Kirtland; sons, Nick Ashcroft and wife, Lawana, of Bloomfield, Ross Ashcroft and wife, Debra, of Kirtland, and Brad Ashcroft and wife, Candace, of Waterflow; daughters, Ramona Fischer and husband, Hans, of Midway, Utah, Mayla Fischer and husband, Gerald, of Sandy, Utah, Lisa Armer and husband, Allen, of Kirtland; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl George and Ruth Ashcroft; wife, June Ashcroft; brothers, Lamar, Gordon, and Stewart Van; sister, Lavone Palmer; grandson, Ronald Perez; and daughter, Sandy Bybee. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 9, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home & Crematory in Farmington. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 10, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 479 County Road 6100 in Kirtland. Following services, interment will be at Kirtland Cemetery with full military honors provided by the U.S. Army. Arrangements are in care of Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home & Crematory, 103 E.
