Hazel Kirk Ballantine, 84, died Monday, April 8, 1991 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home at Palmyra, Missouri. Services were held at Smith Funeral Home in Hannibal with the Rev. Mike McLerrin officiating. Born May 25, 1906 in Pike County, Ill she was a daughter of Andrew Jack and Goldie Higdon Kirk. She married John B. Ballantine April 20, 1950. He died Jan 8, 1964. Survivors include two sisters and a brother. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Kirk; and three sisters, Annie Pearson, Elva Riley and Elizabeth Kirk. Mrs. Ballantine had lived in Hannibal since 1933. She was a member of the Prince Avenue Baptist Church. She had been employed at International Shoe Co. in Hannibal and Long's Nursing Home./kr
