JOE HURTA DIES IN HALLETTSVILLE; SERVICES HERE SATURDAY Joe Hurta, 77, former Taylor resident, died at his home in Hallettsville on Thursday afternoon. The body was brought to Taylor late on Thursday and services will be held at the Gilstrap Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. V. Vavrina of Granger will officiate and burial will be in the Taylor City Cemetery. Mr. Hurta was born in Czechoslovakia and came to Texas with his parents at the age of six. He made his home in Taylor until eight years ago when he moved to Hallettsville. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Woytek of Hallettsville, Mrs. Frank Stiba of Taft, and Mrs. Albina Hora of Austin, and two brothers, Charles Hurta and August Hurta, both of Taylor. Pallbearers will be John Hodon, Joe Hodon, Roy H. Hurta, Raymond Hurta, R. F. Hurta, and John Leshikar.
