OBITUARY Norman Wayne Drobny passed away peacefully at Reginal Health Care and Hospice on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Rapid City, SD. He was born August 18, 1938 to Ladislav and Agnes (Bartu) Drobny in Martin SD. He graduated from Bennett County High School. He married Sharlene Sterkel on 25 Jun 1960 in Shannon County, SD. Norman enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, farming and driving the school bus for the Bennett County School district. After his retirement from driving school bus, he enjoyed going around visiting with people, taking pictures of the community and especially enjoyed getting to know anyone he met. He found true enjoyment in his photography, and especially valued when the youth groups would come to visit. Survivors include his 2 daughters, Agatha (Brent) Coon: 3 grandchildren: Alexis, Blake and Brady Pierre SD, Stacy (Russ) Peterson: 3 grandchildren, Sheyanne, Erin and Tristan and 7 great grandkids Sioux Falls SD and 2 sons Steve (Marianne) Drobny: 2 grandchildren, Sylvan and Ryder Rapid City, SD and Stuart (Cally) Drobny, 2 grandchildren, Amanda and Josie Martin SD. Step children Bryan, Nathan and Heather, as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents and children, Todd, Scott and grandson Hunter. A time of celebration will be held on Saturday, September 2 at 11:00 am at the Martin Community Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Martin, SD.
