Leonard, Texas -- Funeral services for Robert George Damesworth, Sr., 68, of Leonard are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Leonard. Pastor Chad Leutwyler and Chaplain Denny Burris, Retired D.F.D. will officiate. Burial will be in the Damesworth Family Cemetery near Leonard. Family visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Robert was born December 28, 1948 in McKinney. He was a farmer, rancher, business owner and fire fighter. He graduated from Princeton ISD and attended Grayson County College. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leonard and was retired from the Dallas Fire Department. He married Peggy Louise Fox December 21, 1981 in Dallas. He passed away at his residence Thursday August 24, 2017. Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lonnie & Lattie Miller and George and Wilma Damesworth; a grandson: Robert George Damesworth, III; His Beloved Aunt “Sissy”: Juanita Miller and two sisters: Brenda and Glenda Damesworth .
