Bio
Bobbie L. McKnight, of Sherman, who died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Woodlands Place Rehabilitation Suites in Denison, Texas. Mrs. McKnight was born in Dorchester, Texas, the daughter of Lois Ellen Reynolds Young and Linton Young on November 29, 1936. She attended Van Alstyne schools and was a member of the Baptist faith. She married Richard (Dickie) McKnight December 18, 1954 in McKinney, Texas who preceded her in death on July 22, 1993. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Randy McKnight; grandson, Jamie Kindle; sisters, Mary Raney and Melba Richardson; and son-in-law, David Olfers. Mrs. McKnight is survived by her son, Dickie Lynn McKnight of Sherman; daughter, Misty Olfers of Bells, TX; sisters, Helen (June Bug) Evans of Collinsville, TX and Barbara Kessler (Steve) of Ohio; grandchildren, Kortney, Brok, and DJ Olfers and great - grandson, Carson David Olfers. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2016 at Dannel Funeral Chapel in Sherman, Texas with Pastor Wesley Willie officiating. Interment will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery, Van Alstyne, TX. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to service time at Dannel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brok Olfers, DJ Olfers, Tyler Wilburn, David Hammer, Lucas Swenson, Kelly Colba and Joe Ayres.
