Oleta Jessie Shriver Zurek, 79, passed away Sunday morning, August 29, 1999, in her home. She had been cared for by her family during an extended illness. She was born on March 21, 1920, in Buhl, Idaho, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred Prince Shriver. She was raised in the Buhl, Jerome and Wendell areas. She graduated from Wendell High School. She married William Bill Zurek on August 25, 1938, in Twin Falls, ldaho. She was working at Carlson Dry Cleaners, in Buhl, when they first met and were married. She was a great homemaker. In later years, she worked for Green Giant, doing seasonal work. She attended Twin Falls Business College and took classes at C. S. I. Once again, she went to work for Carlson Dry Cleaners, after many years as a homemaker. This time she was their bookkeeper, and worked later for Monte B. Davis, CPA. She loved working with numbers and had beautiful penmanship. She belonged to the Women of the Moose Lodge for over 48 years, the Business and Professional Women's Club, and Buzen Duzen Club, all of Buhl. Her husband, Bill, passed away on March 14, 1988. She loved her flowers, garden, handiwork, bowling and dancing. Her children were the light of her life. She will be greatly missed by them and all those that loved her. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Peggy Jack Jardine of Twin Falls, Richard Sherryl Zurek of Tujunga, California, Eileen Jerry Levings of Buhl, and Larry Nina Zurek of Boise, ID; her grandchildren and spouses: Jeff Janelle Jardine, Cindy Richard Schraft, Dana, Craig, and Jason Zurek; Bonnie Ross, Danielle Bill Patterson, Becki Ross and Joel Zurek; her 11 great-grandchildren: Brady, Kelsey, Marcus, and Casdon Jardine; Breanne, Kylee, and Madison Schraft; William Patterson; Sky Lane, Marie Umbaugh, and Steven Ross. Her brother: Doyle Shriver; a sister-in law: Diane Shriver of Oklahoma, and brother-in law; Adam Schmidt of Jerome. She is preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Jimmie; parents; sister, Vida Schmidt; and a brother, Wayne Shriver. Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at 1 p.m., at the LDS Church on Fair St. in Buhl, with Bishop David Ross officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services in the Relief Society Room. Burial will follow in the Buhl West End Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by Farmers Funeral Chapel in Buhl. The family suggests donations may be made in memory of Oleta to Women of the Moose, P.O. Box 243, Buhl, ID 83316, or Friends of Hospice, 200 2nd Ave. N, Twin Falls, ID 83301.
