Published in the Athens Review March 20, 1947 Funeral services for R.A. (Babe) Beckworth, 68, who died at his home in Cleburne about 3 a.m. Friday, were held at the First Baptist Church in Mabank Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was in the Mabank Cemetery. The Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank assisted a Cleburne funeral home with the arrangements. Pallbearers were nephews. Mr. Beckworth was born in Georgia, and moved to Smith County when a young man. A few years later, he moved to Henderson County and resided in the Pauline community until about 10 years ago, when he moved to Cleburne. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Alvin Beckworth and Ausby Beckworth of Port Arthur and George Beckworth of Abilene; one daughter, Mrs. C.C. Harris of Port Arthur; three brothers, Earnest Beckworth of Stephenville, Odis Beckworth of Gilmer and Bub Beckworth of Waco; and two sisters, Mrs. John R. Bowdoin of Lindale and Mrs. R.A.
