Bio

Elmer was adopted at a young age by John and Mattie (Oakley) Boyd. He used Barnes as his middle name but it was his surname at birth. His birth parents were Harriet Hogan and George W. Barnes. It appears that George Barnes died sometime around 1900. Harriet was forced into placing the children with other families.
