Doris Mae (Kachtik) Affolter Doris Mae (Kachtik) Affolter, 92, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Mainland Hospital. She was born on October 24, 1924, in Temple, Texas, to Albert Kachtik and Lillie (Rohacek) Kachtik, Czech descendants. Doris enjoyed family and was always a resource of knowledgeable information about family ancestors. She had a love for children, which began when she was a child herself. She cared for her siblings, her own children, grandchildren and continued serving as child care for the Texas City community until she retired. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Affolter, brothers, William and James, and sisters Lillian and Joyce. Survivors include her son Ronald Affolter and wife Cheryl, daughter Janna Affolter Conner and husband George; sisters Martha Samohyl and Carolyn Vanza; grandchildren Jayna Powell and husband Montie, Kelly Copher and husband Tyler and Conrad Affolter. Funeral Service will be on Monday, August 7, 2017, at 1 pm, at the Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home with Father John Kappe officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
