CPL US MARINE CORPS VIETNAM ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Ron G. Mullinax was born on July 3, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas, son of William Eugene Mullinax and Ruby Lorene McCoy. Ron grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and his parents were immense wrestling fans. Professional wrestling became a big part of his life at a very early age. He and his sister, Sandra Kay, looked forward to Thursday nights, when the family would pile in their old green Chevy pick-up truck and head out to the local wrestling matches. On Saturday mornings, at 11:00 am, Ron would always be sitting in front of the television set watching NWA Championship Wrestling that was televised locally in Wichita Falls. It was on that television program that he saw Fritz Von Erich for the first time wrestling Gene Kiniski, the year was 1962 and Ron was 10 years old at the time. After graduating from high school at the Army & Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California, Ron spent four years in the U.S. Marine Corps with a tour in Vietnam. After coming back to Texas Ron attended Junior College at Henderson County J.C. in Athens, Texas, and Tech School at DeVry Institute of Technology in Dallas, Texas. Ron's background was mostly Electronics and Computers, spending 7 years with GTE in Dallas, Texas. A Major Influence in his life and the motivation behind his writing was a very interesting person by the name of Jack Adkission, AKA Fritz Von Erich (The Master of the Iron Claw). Fritz was a Professional Wrestler and was a childhood hero of Rons. Later in life Ron not only met his childhood hero, but would be by his side and hold his hand as he passed from this world. Before Jack Adkission passed away, he made Ron promise to write his life story in his own words so all the Von Erich fans around the world could hear the Von Erich story from him. In 1982, Ron and his wife, daughter and son were at Texas Stadium to watch Fritz in his retirement match with King Kong Bundy. Ron G.
