Bio

Frances was born to Charles and Martha Belunek on October 17, 1936, in the house her grandpa built in Frydek, Texas. Exactly 3 years later, she was joined by her sister, Lillie. Frances met her future husband John Lastovica, when they were children in school. They started dating when she was 15, and they married a few years later. Frances and John had 2 children, Madeline (Maggie) and Gary. They raised their children in Houston and she worked at various banks in Houston and Katy before returning to Frydek in 1979, where she began working at Citizens State Bank. She worked there for over 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of the KJZT of Frydek for 75 years, a member of the Altar Society, and co-manager of the kitchen for the Grotto Celebration for many years. She also assisted with various church functions throughout the years. Never one to meet a stranger, she enjoyed and treasured her many friends. Throughout her life, Frances enjoyed gardening, crocheting (including people's names), dancing, fishing, and camping. She was proud to obtain the 100 years Family Farm Heritage certificate for the family farm. Frances took great care of her family and was a terrific cook. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John, daughter Maggie, son Gary (wife Rhonda), sister Lillie Stroud (partner Komanche), brothers-in-law, Leonard Lastovica (wife Becky), Ray Lastovica (wife Tommie), Larry Stroud, grandchildren, Stacey Lastovica, Stephanie Self (husband Sean), John Lastovica, great-granddaughter, Clara Self, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers are John Lastovica, Sean Self, Joey Watson, Ryan Beavers, Charlie Lastovica, Ricky Lastovica, Kenneth Mlcak and honorary pallbearer Allen Stroud. Frances will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
