w/o James S. b: 13 Nov 1946, m: 8 Nov 1996 Nancy Jane McDaniel, 57, of Bryan, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, June 27, 2009, after a brave battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Trevino-Smith Funeral Home, with a 6:30 rosary. A graveside service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Mount Calvary Cemetery with the Monsignor, John McCaffrey officiating. Nancy was born on August 29, 1951 to Walter Tubbs Sr., and Mary Ann Tubbs and lived in Bryan most of her life. She did many things with her life from working on an off shore oil rig, a seismic crew surveyor, an RN, EMS, and was part of the CERT Team to, having her own cleaning service. Nancy was a very caring and helpful person to any and all who needed her. With the support of family and friends, she fought and finished her life's race with faith, courage and dignity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Tubbs Sr. and a brother, Daniel "Buddy" Tubbs. Survivors include her husband, James McDaniel; mother, Mary Ann Tubbs; son, Chris Gilbertson, of Bryan; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Couch and Robert, of Bryan, Beatrice and Steve Krantz, of Minnesota; brothers, Walter "Sonny" Tubbs Jr., Stanley and Mitzi Tubbs, of Bryan; sister, Frances and Carroll Wood, of Bryan; grandchildren, Samantha Gilbertson, Kristen Stanley and Colton Couch, all of Bryan and Taylor Kratz, of Minnesota; great-granddaughter, Adally Barton; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
