Paul "Butch" Irvin Yates, Jr., 70 of Detroit, Texas passed away at his home on Monday, July 31, 2017. He was born in Paris, Texas on December 2, 1946. He married Shirley Sudduth on April 4, 1969. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Yates; children, David Wayne Yates and wife Charlene, John Paul Yates and wife Shawna; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stokes and husband Justin, Kolton Yates, Sarah Yates, Eamon Yates; brother, John E. Ball and wife Wyn. He was preceded in death by his father, John David Ball; mother, Ruth E. Ball; sister, Ruthann Jones. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Red River Valley Mennonite Church with Minister Ed Yost and Nelson Stoll officiating. Interment will follow at Red River Valley Mennonite Cemetery.
