Emily Milley Findley was the daughter of George Phillps, born 1786 in Virginia and his first wife (name unknown)but according to the 1880 Census, Milly was a widow living with her daughter Nancy Findley Black and she listed the birthplace of both her father and mother as Virginia. Milley married William Findley on October 16, 1825.
