Bio

Born near North Bend in Dodge County, Nebraska. Grew up in the Purple Cane area near North Bend and attended a rural school in that area. Married Marietta Downey on March 9, 1938, at Blair. They farmed near Linwood for several years in the North Bend area, then came to Grand Island in 1950 and farmed southwest of Grand Island until 1956. They retired from farming, moved to town and he worked for Mid Plains Construction until he retired in 1980. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survived by wife, Marietta; three sons, Robert of Danvenport, Wash., Jerry of Grand Island and Dick of Aurora, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Gathye and Mrs. Alice Ogard, both of Omaha and Mrs. Agnes Clark of Fremont. Preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
