The Portsmouth Times Portsmouth, Ohio Wednesday, 6 April 1955 MRS. JESSIE BROWN (1881-1955) Wellston, Ohio - Mrs. Jessie Lucretia Brown, 73, died Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. at the home of a sister, Mrs. Maude Pittenger of nearby Berlin. She made her home with the sister the last three years. Mrs. Brown was born in Milton Township Dec. 2, 1881, a daughter of John A. and Frances Dugan Pittenger. She was married Dec. 2, 1906, to Thomas D. Brown, who died in 1950. She formerly lived in Akron and was member of Main Street Methodist Church there. Surviving are two sons, Paul L. Brown of Akron, and Fred R. Brown of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Mrs. Clyde Angles of Jackson Rt. 4, Mrs. C.C. McClure of Circleville, and Miss Pittenger; three brothers, Leslie Pittenger and Harry D. Pittenger, both of Wellston Rt. 3, and John E. Pittenger of Inglewood, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded in death. Funeral services are to be conducted Thursday at 7 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. D. Howard Householder officiating. Burial is to be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Akron Friday at 2 p.m.
