Bio
Anna Marie Kocurek, 91, devoted mom, grandma, GG, aunt and friend, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 18, 1925 at the family homestead in Fratt, Texas to Alouis and Josephine (Fey) Vogel. Anna Marie grew up in the San Antonio area but called Robstown home for the past 70 years. Anna Marie is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Kocurek; brothers, A.H. Vogel and Clarence Vogel; and sister-in-law, Betty Vogel. She is survived by her children, Doris (Pat) McDermott, Tom (Susie) Kocurek, Joanne Tiller, Betty (Ray) Boazman, Rick (Wanalyn) Kocurek, Tricia Kocurek, Debo (Gerald) Eckel, and Charlie (Karol) Kocurek; grandchildren, Jenni (Stefan) Lawson, Katie (Adam) Klein, Patrick (Lauren) McDermott , Sara (Byron) Pfeifer, Steven (Amanda) Kocurek, Susan (John Ryan) House , Shelly Kocurek, Seth Kocurek, Beth (Kelly) Sweigart, Will (Stacie) Tiller, Tyne (Kelly) Tiller, Annika Eckel, Miles Kocurek, Korina Kocurek, Karalee Kocurek, Blaine (Kelly) Boazman, Aimee (Jeff) Baker, Casie (Matt) Berhnard and Ross Geffert. Anna Marie has 29 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Survivors also include her brother, Jerry (Margie) Vogel; sister in law, Virginia Mae Vogel; and sister, Alice Marie Smith. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. with the Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell as celebrant. Graveside services with burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Funeral services entrusted to Sawyer-George Funeral Home, Inc., Corpus Christi, Texas Corpus-Christi Caller-Times, Wednesday, July 26, 2017
