Son of Clifford Kersey and Nancy Jane (Barnard) Waters. Married Mary Margaret Warren on 10/7/1922 in Travis County, Texas. Served in the US Army in WWI; enlistment date 7/6/1917 and discharge date 8/5/1919 as Private 1 Class in the Medical Detachment, 56th infantry. The Medical Detachment attached to the 56th Infantry Regiment, part of the 7th Division, was in the United States Army during World War I.
