J.W. Lisle Take Own Life Well Known Water Man Shoots Himself in Temple With 22 Calibre Revolver in Fit of Despondency -- Body Found in Barn J.W. Lisle, who operated the White Line pure Soft Water Co., for several years in this city, committed suicide early Sunday morning by shooting himself in the right temple with a 22 calibre revolver. The deed was committed in a barn at the rear of his house, 120 Alice street and shortly after Mrs. Lisle heard the report of the pistol and investigated, finding the lifeless body of her husband. Lisle, who had been despondent for several days arose earlier than usual Sunday morning, and after taking his watch and other personal effects from his pockets, wrote a note to his wife, saying that he was tired of life. He then went to the barn and performed the rash act. Lisle was in fair financial circumstances and during the four years he lived in Minot was considered an excellent citizen. He was born in Ohio 51 years ago and twelve years ago located on a farm near Washburn. He was married a second time, and leaves three children, besides three step children. The coroner was notified but no inquest was deemed necessary. The Ward County Independent, February 8, 1912 page 9 ∼ The newspaper article of the death of James W Lisle cites Minot, Ward County, North Dakota as burial site. I have not yet found which cemetery. Search is on going.
