Amanda Malvina Wilks, age 59, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Saturday, June 1, 1907. She was born December 8, 1847, in Washington County, Arkansas, the daughter of John Franklin and Minerva (Cline) Wilson. She and Samuel H. "Sam" Wilks were married on August 27, 1868 in Washington County, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband; four sons, George E. Wilks, John M. Wilks, Harvey James Wilks and Nathan Combs Wilks; and three daughters, Elizabeth Virginia Deen, Martha George and Josephine Madeline Gray. Burial is in Combs Chapel Cemetery, two miles south east of Fayetteville.
Wife of Samuel Wilks. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die. I know that my redeemer liveth.
