Bio

Samuel Don Carlos Alexander, 65, of Eureka, died suddenly Thursday in Guatemala City, Guatemala, while enroute to Panama on a business trip. He was born October 14, 1895, in Missouri and had resided in this area for many years. He had been engaged in the lumber business for many years prior to his retirement one year ago. Survivors include his wife, Anne Alexander, Eureka; son, Samuel Joseph Alexander, Eureka; sister, Mrs. Leora Robberding, Santa Rosa; and grandson, Robert Alexander, Eureka. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the cooper Mortuary, Chapel of the Ferns, with Rev. John L. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anor Buswell, Edward Sauter, John Franceour, Lynn Rieka, C. B. Weltner and Ray Voss. Compilation of funeral notices published in the Eureka Humboldt Standard on June 12 and 14, 1961 _________________________________ His place of birth was found on his U.S. World War I Draft Registration Card.
