Bio

Bennie was the son of Joseph Hollingshead and Stella Baker Hollingshead. His father was born in Wisconsin and his mother was from Illinois. Bennie's parents owned a general store in Nebraska. Some of his siblings were Myrtle, Charlie, Ralph, Joseph, Fred, Matilda, and Jesse. By the 1920 Census he was married to Alice Mary Coe. Their children were Lucille, Marjorie, Leonard, Richard, Edward, Alberta, Norma, and Darrell. The couple later divorced and Bennie remarried. HOLLINGSHEAD, Bennie; aged 67; married Bette L. CRAVEN; aged 41; May 1961; Omaha, Nebraska; license# B18010. As a teen Bennie worked as general labor on farms in Nebraska. At the beginning of his marriage to Alice he worked at his parents general store. He later moved into highway construction where he remained employed for many years. Burial date January 7th, 1970.
