Mrs. Annie Katheryn (Sheppard) Crump (1926 - 2017) Annie Katheryn Crump was born June 6, 1926 in Kemp, Texas and passed away on June 3, 2017 in Canton, Texas. She was the daughter of Charlie Earl Sheppard and Allie Hice Sheppard. She lived a long life and was 91 years old at her passing. The oldest of 4 children and the last one to go to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Kat finished high school in Kemp, Texas in 1944 and moved to Dallas to work. Her parents and siblings soon followed. She met Nolan Flint in Dallas in 1944. They were both from the Kemp area but had never met before. They married on November 11, 1944 in Rockwall, Texas. Two children were born to them in Dallas. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1956. Kat later married Marlin Crump and they lived a very happy life together until his death in 1998. She is survived by daughter Carolyn Flint Garner and husband Ernie Garner; and son Terry Flint and wife Vicki Taylor Flint. Three grandchildren; Laqueta Flint McKinney, Denise Garner Vilim, and William Garner. Two great grandchildren: Aeris Vilim, and Rowan Vilim. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved very much. Kat worked hard all her life to provide for herself, her kids, and to help her parents. One of her first jobs after coming to Dallas and getting married was at Hammonds Dine and Dance where she worked as a waitress for many years. She then owned her own restaurant for a few years. Later she was manager for Ellen’s Dress Shop. Then managed the Long Horn Ballroom for 15 years. After she left the Long Horn, she managed her son business for several years before she retired. She loved people and they loved her. She rarely met a stranger; she was a kind and gentle soul. Laurel Land Funeral Home
