Veteran of World War II Troy HANEY, 78, died Monday, March 3, 2003, at an Abilene medical center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories. He was born to the late Josh Martin and Nora HANEY on January 9, 1925, in Lamesa, Texas. He moved to Abilene from Little Rock, Arkansas in 1958. He was manager of Great American Reserve Life and Health Insurance Company, and served as president of Life Underwriters Association in 1965. After retirement from the insurance business, he owned and operated Jiffy Stop Food Store from 1973 to 1985. He married Betty SCOTT in Lamesa on December 8, 1946. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Abilene, and a U. S. Army Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Betty Scott HANEY of Abilene; three daughters, Diane SISCO and husband, Danny of Roanoke, TX, Debbie HANEY of Lubbock and Kathy BUNNELL and husband, Frank, of Abilene; a brother, E. D. HILBURN of Abilene; four sisters, Marie LYBRAND of Lamesa, Velma PIERSON of New Mexico, Betty KIDD of Lubbock, and Jean GODAIR of Snyder; four grandchildren, Coby SISCO and wife Kathy, Cristi MANTOOTH and husband, Lance, Chad BUNNELL, and Grayson BRUNNELL; and five great grandchildren.
