From Mission Parks Funeral Chapels: Shirley was a long time resident of San Antonio, she passed away on Wednesday, the 28th of June at North Central Baptist Hospital surrounded by family. She was born in Maxdale, TX in 1936. She was a graduate of Burbank High School. She worked many years as an operator for Southwestern Bell where she eventually retired. She spent a number of years working for Target Corp.. She moved to Arizona for a few years to spend time with her grandson while he went to college before moving back to San Antonio. Some of her favorite times were spent going to movies with her family. She was an avid camper and loved reminiscing of family reunions spent on the Lampasas River. In her later years her favorite pastime was spent in spoiling her great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Rodney and her son Rod Jr..She is survived by her daughter Cheryl, son- in- law Randy. Her grandchildren Sabrina and Zachary and two great grandchildren all of whom lived with her in San Antonio also by her brother-in-law Jim and her 3 nephews who reside in the Houston area, as well as numerous cousins. Services will be held at the Tips Mausoleum Chapel at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH 10 West San Antonio, TX, 78257. Services will be on Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing prior to services at 9:00 a.m. interment will follow her service.
