Rogene R. Brown, 87 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Columbus Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 28 at 10:00 AM at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Miksch celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Rosary at Gass Haney Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Columbus High School Athletic Hall Of Fame. Rogene was born November 17, 1929, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Ed and Lillian (Vruble) Blaser. She graduated from Kramer High School and on June 1, 1950, was united in marriage to Howard P. Brown in China Lake, California. While Howard served in the United States Marines, Rogene work in California. Upon Howard's discharge, the couple moved back to Columbus where Rogene worked as a secretary for Shotgun News. In 1966 the couple bought C-K Planning Mill. Rogene was the secretary and treasurer until retiring in 2012. Rogene was an avid golfer at Elk Country Club, loved to travel, and go for walks. She was a supporter of the Humane Society and an avid Husker Football fan. She loved her dogs. Rogene was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Rogene is survived by: Son - Roger Brown of Lincoln, NE Son - Dr. Michael (Janet) Brown of Wichita, KS 7 Grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren Rogene was preceded in death by: Parents - Ed and Lillian Blaser Husband - Howard P. Brown Sister - Gloria Rich Brother - Jerry Blaser
