Bio

Henry Arthur Hausmann, of Charlestown, RI, died on October 6, 2022 at the age of 94. Born in Hartford, CT, in 1927, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary (Hartl) Hausmann. Henry was a graduate of East Hartford High, class of 1945, and UCONN, 1953. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served aboard the U.S.S. Philippine Sea, including its South Pole Expedition 'Operation High Jump' with Admiral Byrd. Pursuing a career in insurance, he worked for Royal Insurance in New York City and resided for 22 years in Rowayton, CT. Henry was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Radcliffe), and second wife, Marion (Paul). He is survived by his brother, his 4 children as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His pastimes included gardening, boating, fishing, lobstering, biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing.
