Bio
CDR US Navy World War II, Korea, Vietnam Joe Lacy, age 88, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017. He was born on July 13, 1928 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Theodore R. and Eula Short Lacy. After completing high school, he joined the Navy and was later accepted into the United States Naval Academy where he obtain a degree in Electrical Engineering. A proud veteran of the US Navy, Joe retired after 20 years of service with a rank of Commander. In his spare time, he took pleasure in playing golf and bowling, at one time serving as President of the San Antonio Bowling Association. He also spent several years as an R.O.T.C. instructor and math teacher at Antonian College Prep School. One of his passions was fishing and loved his trips to Virginia understanding the best catches were to be his! He was preceded in death by his parents and by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra A. Lacy. He is survived by three children, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, other family members and many friends. Rest in peace, sir.
