Annie Earl Smith Miles, age 90 of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center. Mrs. Miles was born in Marion County on June 26, 1926 to the late Thad and Belle Beasley Smith. She worked and retired from Reltoc with over 40 years of service. She enjoyed making quilts, working her garden, and canning. She was a member of Fairview Methodist Church and also attended White Springs. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Leland C. Miles; seven brothers, Edward, Grady, Luther, Aaron, and Reedus Smith, and two infant brothers; and a sister, Eula Mae Stewart. She is survived by three sons, Roger D. Miles of Winfield, Danny E. Miles and his wife Brenda of Moundville, and Terry L. Miles and his wife Angela of Winfield; ten grandchildren, Melisha Todd, Lee Miles and his wife Christina, Debbie Benton and her husband David, Jill Shelton, Cheri Hutchinson, Pamela Bozeman and her husband Calvin, Amanda Winborn and her husband Emmett, Blake Miles and his wife Ashley, Chelsea Rutledge and her husband Chase, and Isabella Miles; 19 great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, at 1:00 PM from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery with Thermon Hubbert and Larry Burnett officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
