Melba A. Russell, 77, of McAlester, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Walnut Grove Living Center. Melba was born on Nov. 21, 1939, in Crawford, to Charles and Francis (Spangler) Miller. She married Joe Russell on April 27, 1974, in Midwest City. She enjoyed gardening and took pride in her roses. She also enjoyed working in her yard, and playing skip-bo and dominoes with her brothers and sisters. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Russell; one daughter, Pamela Hagar; two brothers, Charlie Miller and Fred Miller, and one sister, Velma Schultz. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Brother Bart Effinger officiating. Burial will follow at Arpelar Cemetery.
