Lillian Bishop obituary November 26, 1917 - December 30, 2013 Lillian Bishop of the Elliott Community passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the age of 96. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 2, at Elliott Baptist Church. Lillian was born in Robertson County November 26, 1917 to Fred and Della Yates. She grew up in Robertson County and graduated from Franklin High School. She married Louis “Sam” Bishop in 1939. She spent most of her adult life in Houston where her husband was worked for Exxon. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress. She loved to quilt, crochet as well as fish. She had a green thumb and loved to garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, and sister, Estelle Knight. Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Nelms of the Elliott Community, Marie and Ken Jones of Bulverde, Texas; grandchildren, Marcy Frye, Rodney Ward, Jeffrey Ward, and Philly Jones; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
