Father: James P Mc Arthur Mother: Mary Claiborne (death certificate) The 1920 census recorded Luckett L. McArthur, 17, living on a farm in Bastrop County, Texas, with widowed father J. P., and sisters: Mary L. [Lucille], Edna D., and Mable J. The 1930 census recorded Lucklett [Luckett] L. McArthur living in Houston, Harris, Texas, with father James P. and sister Lucille. Luckett worked as a geologist for an oil company. His father worked as a butcher and his sister as a stenographer. L. L. McArthur married Edna Mae Hampton August 4, 1937, in Garland County, Ark. They were both reported to be residents of Clarksville in northeast Texas. The 1940 census recorded Luckett McArthur living in Houston, Harris, Texas, with wife Edna and stepson Joseph T. Hampton, 13. Luckett was a bus driver for the city transit system. L. L. McArthur adopted stepson Joseph in 1945.
