Charlie J. (C. J.) Hejney, 90, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Denton, TX. He was born February 5, 1927 to Charlie and Mary (Jaresh) Hejney near Gunter, TX. He attended Gunter High School and served in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1952. C. J. retired from Ryder Systems in Dallas, TX after 36 years. For the past five years, he has lived at Willow Bend Assisted Living and Memory Care in Denton, TX. He married Marie Heuman on November 18, 1950 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Pilot Point where he was a longstanding parishioner and a Knights of Columbus member. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie and son, Douglas. He is survived by his daughter, Patty and husband Joe Kahle of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by four nieces and nephews and their families.
