Ervinna "Vin" Vaughn, 81, passed away July 12, 2015, surrounded by loved ones and covered in prayer. She was born March 7, 1934, in Lampasas, Texas to Tom and Ethel Carrigan. Ervinna will be forever remembered by her husband of 62 years, Jessy Vaughn; her children, Melody (Ken) Harrison, Jan Vaughn, Joy (Kenny) Lackey, Jay (Trisha) Vaughn, and Dasha (Rob) Gariepy; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Depuy and Shirley Hayes, her grandson, Jeremy Harrison, and her son-in-law, Kenny Lackey. Vin, Also known as Memo or Mimz to those who knew her well, had a passion for working word puzzles. She collected broaches and other various pirate treasure. She enjoyed hummingbirds, Minnie Mouse, yellow roses, and the hymn "Amazing Grace." Vin was a homemaker before going back to school in her forties, where she earned a degree as an LPN. For over 10 years she worked passionately, loving and caring for the elderly. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Las Cruces. She had a close relationship with God and spent many hours reading her Bible. She had an infectious laugh and a loving spirit. Her presence is profoundly missed.
