The Columbus, Neb., Telegram Sunday, March 17, 1996 COLUMBUS - Edward F. Olsufka, 77, ..., died Friday, March 15, 1996, at Columbus Community Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Miksch officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery... Visitation will be ...at McKown Funeral Home... Mr. Olsufka was born May 24, 1918, to John and Eva (Sock) Olsufka in Columbus. He graduated from St. Bonaventure High School. He married Genevieve Tworek July 1, 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from Oct. 21, 1942 to Oct. 10, 1945. He served two years in India in the Railroad Battalion 725. He was a conductor for the Union Pacific for 40 years retiring in 1978. He belonged to St. Anthony Catholic Church, VFW 3704, Hartman Post 84 American Legion, UTU for 51 years and the UPRR Old Timers. He is survived by his wife: two daughters, Mary Hassenstab of Columbus and Margaret Rowley of Omaha; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister. Contributor: diaNEB (47466150)
